Today's ride was a little shorter than usual, but I thought the turnaround spot at 310 E St would be a good place to start next time. There was a small
parking area at the start on the north side of the canal. The bike surface was worn asphalt/gravel when I began and then became just fine gravel. The gravel section had a lot of plant growth popping up in the middle and on the sides leaving just narrow paths. I could feel the grasses brush across my ankles while riding. Sights along the way included another aqueduct (always a favorite), some great blue herons, turtles, and a red/black striped feather (possibly from a red-tailed hawk?). The sun was shining bright, so I got a little hot biking at noon, but energized too!
