E 2750th St (Rt 78) to 45 E St outside Annawan about 3 miles August 12, 2021

I almost didn't go biking today because it has been so hot and humid, but then I went outside and it wasn't as bad as I thought!  So off I went!  The drive to the put-in spots is getting farther and farther from home.  This just makes my adventures a little longer! There are 2 parking areas at this location. I parked by the boat ramp on the south side of the canal.  Here there is an outhouse and an old sign about the canal, which unfortunately is no longer readable.  The other spot (here) is on the north side of the canal and quicker to access the bike trail which is on the north side.  Of course, I didn't see it until afterward.  The path is a worn asphalt/gravel with plants popping up through the middle.  Some of the fun sights along the way were beautiful flowering lily pads, pretty purple flowers, a bird with a white neck that I still cannot identify (pictured below), serene farmlands, and a row of volunteer corn plants.  All in all, a great ride.  Glad I decided to go!
